Not the Way to Celebrate the Holiday of the King of Non-Violence


Since cancelled, this event, sponsored by the 78th Support Squadron at Robbins Air Force Base in Warner, Georgia, was wrong and racist–and an affront and contradiction to the legacy and philosophy of Dr. King as he passionately practiced it and wrote about it his books and proclaimed in his sermons and speeches. The flyer was “like a piece of hate mail,” Rutha Jackson, president of the Houston County, Ga., NAACP, told The Macon Telegraph.
